Did you know sound could do this?

The Healing Power of Sound

Hi Reader,

Last year, I walked into a local store and immediately noticed something.

A buzzing sound.

It wasn't loud.

But it was there.

You know those noises that once you hear them, you can't un-hear them?

That was this sound. ๐Ÿ‘‚

I finished shopping, left the store, went about my day... and somehow that buzzing sound stayed with me.

Fast forward to that evening.

I was doing some self-healing work and checking in with my body when I got a message that felt oddly specific:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Toxic noise.

And instantly I knew exactly what it was.

That buzzing sound from the store.

Sound affects us more than we realize.

Think about it.

๐Ÿ˜ญA baby crying can immediately raise your stress level.

๐ŸงฏA smoke alarm chirping every few minutes can make you want to throw it out the window. ๐Ÿ˜„

๐ŸŽต A favorite song can transport you back 20 years in an instant.

Sound changes how we feel.

And because it influences our nervous system, it influences our body.

What many people don't realize is that sound is vibration.

And your body is constantly responding to vibration.

Your eardrums vibrate.

Your nervous system interprets those signals.

Your heart rate, breathing, muscle tension, and even your stress response can shift based on what you're hearing.

That's why certain sounds feel calming almost immediately:

๐ŸŒฟ ocean waves
๐ŸŒฟ rainfall
๐ŸŒฟ birds singing
๐ŸŒฟ wind through the trees

Your body often responds differently to those sounds than it does to traffic, notifications, alarms, and the constant hum of modern life.

This is one reason practices like drumming, chanting, music therapy, and singing bowls have been used in cultures around the world for centuries.

The goal isn't that a specific frequency magically fixes something.

The real magic happens when sound helps your nervous system move from "go-go-go" mode into a state where your body can finally rest.

And when your body feels safe enough to rest, amazing things can happen.

Your breathing slows.

Your muscles relax.

Your mind gets quieter.

You stop carrying the weight of the day for a little while.

In a world filled with noise, intentional sound can become a form of medicine for the soul.

And honestly?

Most of us could use a little more of that.

And if you're in Central Wisconsin, come experience the healing power of sound for yourself at our Sound Bath in the Tea Garden on June 16th.

I'd love to see you there.

2026 Issue #29 Your Body Knows What It Needs Hi Reader, People often ask me why I started making tea, and my answer usually catches them off guard. Honestly... it was selfish. I didn't start making tea to open a tea business. I started making tea because I wanted to feel better. I wanted to improve my own health and the health of my family. I had pill fatigue from supplement that often seemed just as processed as the pharmaceuticals I was trying to avoid. I started paying attention to the...

2026 Issue #28 From Cornfield to Flower Garden: A Story About Growth and Transformation Hi Reader, I was walking through the U-pick flower and tea garden this week when I noticed something I'd never seen there before. A hummingbird. It hovered from flower to flower for just a few seconds before disappearing into the trees. I stood there smiling because a thought immediately crossed my mind... A few years ago this was just a cornfield. There weren't rows of flowers and herbs with beautiful...

2026 Issue #27 Every Symptom Has a Story Hi Reader, Iโ€™m always looking for new ways to help my clients get to the root cause of whatโ€™s going on in their bodies. Recently, I trained as a medical intuitive and have been impressed with the results when I use this method for my clients. One of my recent practice clients had struggled with seasonal allergies for years. Every spring his nose would start dripping, heโ€™d feel stuffed up, and some days he didnโ€™t even want to get out of bed. Allergy...
