Are you too busy… or just not making time?

Why “I Don’t Have Time” Might Not Be the Real Problem from a Farmer

Hi Reader,

My goat had her babies! (Yes, I know they’re called kids… but there is seriously nothing cuter than baby goats 🐐).

And with that new addition to the farm, I can officially add milking to my list of daily chores.

Now I’ll be honest…I used to say I was busy before.

But somehow — somehow — I now have time to go out to the barn and milk Sugar twice a day.

Which got me thinking…Is it really that I didn’t have time before?

Or did I just not make time for certain things?

Because here’s what I’ve noticed while sitting there, milking, with a few quiet minutes to think…

We always make time for what we really want to do.
Or what we really, really have to do.

Think about it.

You might have a huge project at work you’re planning to tackle next week.

But if you come down with a high fever and you’re stuck in bed for a few days…

The world doesn’t end.

Your job doesn’t disappear.

Even though in the moment, laying there, you might be thinking it will. 😄

Or if your car breaks down…

You’ll somehow find the time to take it in for repair.

Time isn’t usually the issue.

The actual problem is:
👉 our expectations of ourselves
👉 the things that quietly eat up our time (hello, dead scrolling 👀)
👉 and how we choose to prioritize what actually matters

So here’s something I want you to try this week.

Instead of saying:

“I don’t have time for that…”

Say:

👉 “I don’t make time for that.”

Try it on.

See how it feels.

Why does this help?

Because it puts the choice back in your hands.

“I don’t have time” feels out of your control.
“I don’t make time” is honest.

And maybe a little uncomfortable…

But also a little empowering.

Because if you don’t like how it feels?

You can change it.

You can decide what does get your time.

And what doesn’t.

No pressure to overhaul your life.

Just a small awareness shift for the week.

2026 Issue #20 Why Play Is So Important for Your Nervous System Hi Reader, When I worked in corporate, I was really good at being productive. But if I’m being honest? I was terrible at play. Of course I took my kids to fun things like birthday parties, trampoline parks, fun outdoor parks in the area where they could run around. But most of the time, I was off to the side, being productive. Doing things like, Answering emails. Online shopping for things the family needed Thinking about work....

2026 Issue #19 Your Body Needs to Feel Safe Before It Lets Go Hi Reader, One thing I’ve learned about nutrition over the years… 👉 companies are really good at making things confusing. Because when you’re confused, they can make you think they have the answer, which makes you buy their stuff. And honestly? It makes sense when you start thinking about weight loss. We’ve all been told: 👉 “Just be in a calorie deficit.” Simple. Clean. Easy to sell when you're offering dieters something they...

2026 Issue #18 What actually helps your metabolism (from an NTP) Hi Reader, Early on in my weight loss journey, I was stuck in the yo-yo cycle. I’d eat “perfectly” all week…hit the gym…drink a ridiculous amount of water… and the scale would go down. 🥳 But then the weekend would hit and I’d give myself a little “break”… have some wine… relax a bit… …and by Monday? I had gained it all back. Rinse. Repeat. For the longest time, I blamed: my lack of discipline my body for “working against me” and...
